Speech and Language Pathology InternshipsThe Price Center provides internship opportunities for dedicated students persuing advanced degrees in Speech and Language Pathology. Our on site therapists are committed to education and training as teaching affiliates with the following establishments:
- Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions
- Emerson College School of Communication Disorders
Interns receive one-to-one supervision while developing their skills in the following areas:
- Speech therapy
- Language therapy
- Communication Enhancement Techniques
- Swallowing Disorders
The internship program is well established at the Price Center. Students
become integrated members of our Newton and Dedham Day Habilitation Teams
and work in conjunction with Occupational Therapists and Behaviorists.
Behavior/Counseling Internships
The Price Center is also able to provide internships for students interested in developing skills in the areas of psychology, behavior analysis and counseling. Interns are supervised by a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and have the opportunity to be involved in therapeutic activities such as:
- Co-leading Socialization Groups
- Providing individual therapy sessions
- Learning about the steps involved in behavior assessment and program development
Interns work as part of an interdisciplinary team including occupational, speech and behavior therapists.
